Mulpha identifies, investigates and invests in other operating businesses where Mulpha’s core activities, together with capital, can unlock value and deliver risk-adjusted returns for shareholders and other stakeholders.
Mulpha looks to take a “hands-on”, supportive and commercial approach as a value-adding investor. This is achieved through actively leveraging its unique combination of operational and management expertise, internal capabilities, strategic foresight, financial acumen and extensive networks of potential customers, suppliers and channel partners in Australia and internationally.

Our Investment Criteria
- We seek opportunities which recognise our competitive advantages. We have expertise in the hotel, hospitality, leisure, education, experiential and service retail, real estate services, childcare and technology sectors.
- We prefer businesses that have reached profitability, generating circa $1m to $20m in cash flow per annum.
- We wish to be to a direct, involved and helpful shareholder, working with management to drive growth.
- We are flexible in our ownership levels (from minority to majority), provided we have appropriate representation and rights to have a “seat at the table”.
- While we generally do not participate in third party funds for traditional private equity investments, we welcome opportunities to co-invest with like-minded investors where our competitive advantages can assist.
- We are flexible on holding period, ranging from a more traditional 0 to 5 years, through to perpetuity if it makes sense to do so.
- We can participate anywhere in the capital structure as equity, debt or a hybrid solution. We will also look at distressed opportunities.
- We have a swift internal decision-making process and can execute transactions in a timely manner.
- We are open to investment opportunities in Australia and New Zealand, as well as those which might look to leverage Mulpha’s broader relationships in Asia.

The Signal Group
Mulpha acquired Signal Group in 2021. Based in Coomera in Southeast Queensland, Signal Group is a leading supplier of customised name badges, personal and ID security solutions, promotional products, workwear, apparel, headwear and signage. For over 15 years it has been servicing its clients, which include some of Australia’s most prominent national retailers, restaurants, hospitality, airlines, education, real estate, healthcare groups, government and emergency services.
Vera Wang Australia
In 2019, Mulpha entered a partnership with Vera Wang to be the exclusive license holder of Vera Wang Haute in Australia. The bridal boutique, which is located in the heritage listed, iconic Sydney InterContinental Hotel is the epitome of a luxury experience. As the only stockist of the high end bridal couture in Australia, brides travel from near and far to experience the Vera Wang ‘ceremony of service’.
HUB OS
In early 2021, Mulpha partnered with Spanish based company Hub OS to bring their revolutionary integrated hotel software to Australia and the Asia Pacific. Used in over 800 hotels worldwide, HUB successfully integrates housekeeping, engineering, quality control, food & beverage, energy management through PMS (property management system) interfaces into the platform. Available and optimized as an App, HUB works seamlessly on smartphones to enable operational data to be shared in real-time to staff anywhere in the hotel, enabling instant responses to guest, housekeeping or maintenance requests.
EDU Holdings Limited
EDU Holdings owns and operates tertiary education businesses, with a primary focus in Health, Community Services, Childcare and Nursing. It offers vocational and higher education courses to both domestic and international candidates, who graduate with job-ready, industry-aligned qualifications. Its strategy is to foster and support growth in its existing businesses, through initiatives such as course, campus, and delivery-mode expansion, while concurrently pursuing complementary acquisition opportunities. EDU Holdings is ASX listed and Mulpha is a substantial shareholder with an ownership interest of approximately 14%.
OIF Ventures
Mulpha is a meaningful Limited Partner in OIF Ventures Fund II and Fund III. OIF is an Australian based venture capital firm that invests in innovative high growth businesses, led by a team of proven business builders with a long track record of backing leading entrepreneurs. In addition to being the first corporate partner of OIF, Mulpha has representation on OIF’s Investment Committee, with an ability to co-invest in opportunities which operates in, or targets, technology, software or disruptive offerings in hospitality, tourism, education, real estate and construction, being those sectors where Mulpha can bring its expertise and network.
No Brand Emerging Fund
No Brand Emerging Fund is an Early-Stage Venture Capital Limited Partnership focused on opportunities that are empowered by technology. It aims to back mission driven leaders who are building for a long term horizon and benefit from online platforms, community or network effects. In particular No Brand targets software and ecommerce businesses that use their technology to provide or distribute goods and/or services via online platforms, and emerging technology businesses that have or use technologies that are ready for commercialisation. Mulpha is a cornerstone investor in No Brand Emerging Fund with representation on its Investment Committee.
Futurerent
Futurerent gives property investors up to $100,000 of rent in advance, as a simple way for property investors to access the money they need on their journey. Futurerent is empowering investors to buy another property, finance a renovation or life’s next adventure with their rental income. Mulpha is a minority investor in Futurerent, providing strategic input and use of Mulpha’s real estate and finance industry relationships.
